This week I spent time in a new studio for the first time since moving to California.
There's something familiar about stepping into an empty studio, no matter where it is in the world. The floor, the mirrors, the quiet before the music begins—it always feels like an invitation to begin again.
Over the past few years, dance has taken me through many different roles: performer, teacher, coach, choreographer. Each asks something different, yet they continue to inform one another in unexpected ways.
Lately I've been thinking less about achievement, and more about attention.
How do we notice the small details that give movement life? How do we stay curious enough to keep discovering?
Perhaps that's one reason I wanted to begin this space.
Not as a record of accomplishments, but as a place to gather thoughts that might otherwise drift away.
I'm looking forward to seeing where they lead.
